When the ink in an inkjet printer runs out, you have to change the cartridge or give it to a specialized organization for refueling. But this is not always convenient, and the cost of a new cartridge or its professional refilling is quite expensive. In some cases, you can refill the cartridge at home. After such a procedure, the printer will serve for a long time without replacing the cartridge.

Necessary

  • - syringe;
  • - ink;
  • - napkin or rag;
  • - cotton wool;
  • - newsprint;
  • - Scotch;
  • - scissors;
  • - protective gloves.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare all materials and tools necessary for refilling the cartridge. When purchasing ink, make sure it is correct for your printer model. If you are refilling a black and a color cartridge at the same time, you will need multiple syringes. Place two or three layers of newsprint at the place where you will be refueling to avoid staining the table or other surface.

Step 2

Carefully separate the used cartridge from the printer and place it on the table. Do not touch the working surface of the cartridge. All work is recommended to be carried out with rubber gloves to protect hands from dirt.

Step 3

Draw enough ink from the container into the syringe and attach the needle. Remove the sticker from the cartridge, under which you will see several holes. Insert the syringe needle alternately into each hole, injecting the required amount of ink. The working capacity of the cartridge is usually indicated on its packaging or in the instruction manual of the inkjet printer.

Step 4

When ink is injected into the cartridge, wipe it thoroughly with a clean cloth or tissue. Do not wipe the cartridge nozzles or even touch them. Glue a suitable piece of tape over the holes, and put the sticker removed at the beginning of work on it.

Step 5

Install the refilled cartridge in its place in the printer and check the device in operation. If the ink comes out of the nozzles very abundantly during printing, detach the cartridge and place it with the working side down on several layers of newsprint or a rag. Wait for excess ink to drain.

Step 6

If you are refilling a color cartridge at the same time, follow the same procedure. The only difference is that in this case you will need to draw ink of different colors into three separate syringes. Below the color cartridge label are color-coded holes for different inks.
