Instructions

Step 1

Place the Canon FX-10 cartridge with the photosensitive drum towards you. Move the protective cover away from you. Remove the spring on the left from the cartridge. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the photosensitive drum cover on the right. Remove the cover from the cartridge.

Step 2

Gently lifting the drum by the gear, remove it from its seat. Remember that at the other end it is secured with a metal shaft with a wide base. Remove the drum carefully. Be careful not to damage it as it is an important part of the cartridge. Using a curved awl or steel wire hook, remove the charge shaft from its seats. The shaft is located under the removed photosensitive drum.

Step 3

Divide the cartridge body into two halves. To do this, the retaining pins must be removed. You can see their edges recessed into the body at the ends of the cartridge. Use a curved awl or flathead screwdriver to remove. Push the pins outward, applying force to their edges, which are inside the cartridge under the magnetic roller. Once you slide them out of place, you can use the pliers to pull them out.

Step 4

Take half of the waste toner cartridge and remove the privacy shutter. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws and remove the cleaning blade. Shake the waste toner out of the hopper and vacuum it. Reinstall the cleaning blade and protective cover.

Step 5

Take the other half of the magnetic roller cartridge. On the side opposite the gear reducer, use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the retaining screw and remove the cartridge cover. While holding the magnetic roller, pull out the plug that closes the toner hopper. Using a funnel, pour the toner into the cartridge after shaking it. Replace the plug and screw the cartridge cap back on.

Step 6

Take half of the waste bin cartridge. Apply a layer of special powder to the cleaning blade. Install the charge shaft in its place, after wiping it. Attach the photosensitive drum to its seats without screwing on the cartridge cover.

Step 7

Connect the two halves of the cartridge together, insert the retaining pins and screw the cartridge cover that covers the photosensitive drum with two screws. Replace the spring.
