Modern plasma and LCD TVs support HD and Full HD images. Unfortunately, it is not always possible to purchase a Blue-Ray player to watch videos in the appropriate quality. This problem can be solved by connecting a stationary computer or laptop to the TV.
Necessary
- - HDMI-HDMI cable;
- - DVI-HDMI adapter.
Instructions
Step 1
To transfer digital images, modern video cards are endowed with DVI and HDMI ports. In TVs, the HDMI port is most often found. This is due to the fact that this is a relatively new connector through which an audio signal can be transmitted. If your PC's video card only has a DVI port, purchase a DVI-Out to HDMI-In adapter.
Step 2
Turn off your computer (laptop). Connect the adapter and HDMI to HDMI cable to the desired port. Connect the other end of the cable to the channel of the same name on the TV. Turn on your computer and wait for the operating system to load.
Step 3
Now turn on your TV and open the settings menu of this device. Find the "Signal Source" item and select the HDMI port to which you connected the cable. Most likely, after applying the settings, the TV screen will display the computer desktop without the taskbar and shortcuts.
Step 4
If this does not happen, then proceed with setting up the synchronous operation of the two displays. Open Control Panel and navigate to Appearance and Personalization. Open the "Connect to external display" menu.
Step 5
After opening a window titled "Display Settings" click the "Find" button. Wait for the TV graphic to appear. Select it and activate the "Extend to this screen" item.
Step 6
Extending your desktop is the ideal setting for your TV and monitor to work in sync. Its use allows you to simultaneously launch the video player on the display of an external device without occupying the working area of the monitor.
Step 7
If you want to get an identical image on the TV and monitor, then select the graphic image of the TV and activate the function "Duplicate on this screen".
