If an inkjet printer stops printing, it is most likely that the ink cartridges are out of ink. Do not rush to buy a new cartridge or go to a workshop for a professional refill. With the simplest materials on hand, you can refill the cartridge at home.

Necessary

  • - ink for the cartridge;
  • - medical syringe;
  • - a clean cloth;
  • - polyethylene film;
  • - duct tape;
  • - scissors;
  • - latex gloves.

Instructions

Step 1

Stock up on ink for the cartridge. They can be purchased from a specialist duplicator shop. Make sure the ink you choose is suitable for your type of inkjet printer. To refill a color cartridge, you need ink of the correct color.

Step 2

Prepare your workplace. Place plastic wrap or oilcloth on the table where you will refill the cartridge to protect the surface from contamination. Protect your hands with rubber gloves. For refueling, you will also need an ordinary medical syringe, the capacity of which corresponds to the volume of the cartridge specified in the technical documentation.

Step 3

Turn on the printer and put the printing device in working position. Disconnect the cartridge to be refilled from the device. Do not touch the working surface and nozzles of the cartridge. This can lead to failure of the printing element.

Step 4

Draw enough ink from the bottle into a clean syringe for refilling. Attach a needle to the syringe. Inspect the cartridge. On one of its walls you will see a sticker with a row of holes under it. Carefully insert the needle of the syringe into each hole one at a time and inject ink into the device.

Step 5

Wipe the filled cartridge with a clean cloth to remove drips, being careful not to hit the nozzles. Cut off a piece of duct tape or duct tape and use it to cover the holes you used to fill the cartridge. A standard label can be applied over the sticky layer.

Step 6

Insert the refilled cartridge into the corresponding slot in the printer carriage and test it in operation. Print a sample of a document. If the print is excessively greasy, detach the cartridge again and place it on a cloth or several layers of newspaper for a while, with the work surface down. When the excess ink is drained, wipe the cartridge and reinsert it into the carriage. Adjust the printer according to the directions in the technical documentation.
