Modern models of laser printers have a long resource of cartridge refills. But sooner or later the toner in the cartridge runs out. As a rule, this happens at the most inopportune moment and it will not be superfluous to know how to refill the cartridge yourself.

Step 1
The first signal that a cartridge needs to be refilled is a striped, faint print. But do not rush to change the toner immediately - pull the cartridge out of the printer and shake it vigorously several times. Then put it back in place and print a test page - if printing is normal, the cartridge will be able to work normally for a while. If this measure does not help, he definitely needs refueling.
Step 2
Place a newspaper on the table, carefully remove the cartridge from the printer and inspect its structure. The most popular cartridge model consists of two parts, which are interconnected by latches or latches.
Step 3
Open the latches / latches, separate the halves of the cartridge and very calmly, slowly, trying not to spill on yourself, pour the used powder out of it. Great if you have a respirator or face shield.
Step 4
Use a brush or brush to thoroughly clean the cartridge hopper from old toner clots. To do this properly, it is better to remove the light-sensitive drum. The drum is not difficult to find - traditionally it will be either pink or blue.
Step 5
Also, with a brush or a brush, clean the gears from the old powder and go over the cartridge with a vacuum cleaner.
Step 6
Pour new toner into the cartridge.
Step 7
Now reassemble the cartridge and slide it back into place in the printer.

The second method is for those who are not afraid to make holes in technology. Make a neat hole with a diameter of 8 or 10 millimeters in the toner hopper and shake out the old toner through it and fill in the new one using a funnel. After changing the toner, the hole can be sealed with tape. A similar hole can be made with a drill, scalpel, or soldering iron. Unfortunately, using this method, it is impossible to clean the drum and gears from the old toner, so you should not use this method more than 2-3 times in a row.
