The Huawei Mate X is the first foldable smartphone from Huawei to feature an extremely interesting design. But is it worth the consumer's attention?
Design
The screen is one of the elements that attracts attention. It is very large, 8 inches, and folds flat.
When unfolded, the smartphone is incredibly thin - only 5.4 mm. It is very easy to hold it in your hand in this position, but the weight of the device is quite large - 295 grams. In the folded position, the thickness reaches 11 mm, which also remains an acceptable value. Some smartphones from Samsung Galaxy line have a thickness of 12 mm.
The top panel houses a SIM card slot. In this case, one of them can be used for microSD. The speaker and the connector for charging, transferring USB Type-C information can be seen on the underside of the phone.
The fingerprint sensor is not built into the screen and is not located on the back, as the manufacturer usually does. A separate area is allocated for it near the volume control button. You just need to put your finger on it, after which it will be unlocked. It works even with the screen off. At the same time, the scanner does not read wet fingers.
The main camera is located on the back panel at the fold. Moreover, it is made of metal, does not leave fingerprints or marks. But do not forget that the cover is not included in the kit; in other stores, due to the unusual size and structure, it cannot be purchased as a whole. It is fragile; if dropped even from a low height, it will crack or even break. You can't carry it in your pocket with keys or change - the screen is very easy to scratch.
Camera
There is no front camera here. The developer makes a big bias in appearance, so the main camera here does not stand out from the rest of the flagship cameras. The main lens has a 40 MP f / 1.8 aperture. It is necessary for obtaining high-quality photos with a large palette of colors and good focus. The ultra wide angle second lens is 16MP and is required for greater coverage. With its help, the picture is wider and larger.
The third lens has 8 MP and is required for zoom. It works relatively well - no strong noise appears, pixels are preserved.
Specifications
The Huawei Mate X is powered by an eight-core HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor paired with a Mali-G76 MP10 GPU. The RAM is 8 GB, the internal memory is 512 GB. It can be expanded with a microSD card. The battery is very capacious and has 4500 mAh, which is enough to actively use the smartphone all day long. There is no fast food mode. Unfortunately, the phone does not support 5G.
