Vivo presented this model at the end of November 2019, and in December the smartphone began to be sold. But is it worth the attention of users and is there a need for it?
Design
It is very bright and attracts the attention of users. The blue body shimmers in the sun, forcing others to pay attention to it.
However, the main problem still remains - fingerprints on the back. There are two options for solving it: either carry the smartphone in a case, or wipe it regularly. It should be borne in mind that the bright case will be hidden behind a silicone or plastic object, but the device will be protected from scratches and drops from a small height.
The dimensions of the device are considerable: 159x75x8.7 mm. It has a slightly larger size and width, the hand gets tired from long-term work with it, moreover, it is quite weighty - 187 grams. This mass is associated with a capacious battery - 4500 mAh.
The fingerprint scanner is located below the screen. If we compare with other models with the same price range, we can conclude that the speed of recognition and unlocking is average. However, this is rather poorly noticed.
Camera
The main chamber is quite unusual and has a rhombus structure. All four lenses here. The wide-angle has 48MP, the ultra-wide-angle has 8MP. It is possible with the help of two additional 2 MP lenses to take macro photography, to take deep photos.
Despite very good detail, the camera sorely lacks a wide color gamut. Photos in good lighting are quite dark and gray. However, shadows persist and overall the quality of the photo is quite good.
The camera copes very well with night shooting. Shadows are preserved, while there is no excess light, toxic colors, which are very clearly visible on the same Huawei P40 Pro, for example, especially with the flash on.
The front camera has 32 MP. She recognizes the face very well, blurs the background a little for more focus on it.
The camera can shoot videos at maximum FullHD quality with a frequency of 30 frames per second. I would like to cancel the good stabilization and dynamic range.
Specifications
The Vivo V17 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 octa-core processor paired with an Adreno 610 GPU. Internal storage ranges from 8GB to 256GB and can be expanded with a microSD card up to 256GB. Here it is possible to insert 2 SIM cards at once.
The smartphone runs on the Android 9 operating system, while it is constantly updated and regularly invites the user to update them.
There is a 3.5 mm jack, as well as NFC. In order to charge the battery, a USB Type C port is required.
