Audio cassettes, now hopelessly outdated, still store a lot of dear recordings for many. Not everything can now be found on digital media, and therefore people have to master the science of home digitization of sound.
Instructions
Step 1
The first thing you need to do is find a device that can play your favorite audio cassette and at the same time has a line-out. It can be any player or cassette recorder.
Step 2
Connect the line-out (or headphone-out) of the playback device to the input of your sound card. Most likely, one cable with minijack connectors will be sufficient for this operation.
Step 3
Install a program for recording and editing sound on your computer, for example - Free Audio Recorder
Step 4
Point the program to the line-in of your sound card as the sound source and define the format in which you want to record. If you plan to record later to disk in cd-audio format, it is better to record in wav.
Step 5
Start playback on your tape recorder (player) and at the same time start recording in the audio editor.
Step 6
You can then burn the files obtained in this way to optical media.
