Almost everyone faced this problem. It is especially relevant for laptop owners when the power supply plug fails. It bends, and as a result, the antennae break off, or burns out altogether. It would seem that it is necessary to change the entire cable and the power supply itself, but it will be enough to repair only the plug. And you can do it yourself at home. Even a person who does not have special knowledge and skills in electronics can cope with this work.
Necessary
- - plug;
- - tools.
Instructions
Step 1
Buy two plugs from a radio store. They are inexpensive - about ten to fifteen rubles. You need to buy collapsible plugs, because it is easier to work with them and the fact that they understand it will be very useful in this situation.
Step 2
Twist the plastic cover of the plug along the thread and remove the metal core. This is what you need. If you have not dealt with anything like this before, study the "insides" of the plug. There should be two different terminals to which the wires are usually attached.
Step 3
Clean the cable wiring. To do this, carefully cut five inches of the laptop cable with a knife along the centimeters and expose the wires that make it up. For cutting, it is better to use a clerical paper knife. Do this carefully so as not to damage the wire itself, otherwise the plug will not work.
Step 4
Then attach them to the corresponding terminals on the purchased and prepared plug. Screw on the center wire, and the braid - the second wire goes to the body, so press it to the plug with special tapered pliers or working tweezers.
Step 5
Attach the removed cover to its original position. Collapsible plugs are convenient for this - you can preserve the aesthetic appearance of the device after repair, avoiding roughly sticking out electrical tape or glue smudges. Why was it said that you had to buy two plugs, and only one was used? Because they cost mere pennies, and in the event of a repeated breakdown, you just once again do not have to fuss and puzzle over where to buy a plug at 3 in the morning, when you really need to work at the computer.
Step 6
So put it in your toolbox or desk for access when needed. It remains only to wish good luck and remind you once again that you can handle almost any repair yourself.
