Radio waves are constantly spreading in the air around us. They carry a variety of information. You can build a simple radio station that will receive and transmit a signal. All the parts that make up it can be found in any home.

Necessary

  • - Several nails;
  • - A medium sized plastic bottle;
  • - Pen or pencil;
  • - The wire;
  • - Knife or nippers;
  • - Germanium diode;
  • - Teflon wire;
  • - Telephone receiver;

  • - Binders.

Instructions

Step 1

Secure the empty plastic bottle securely. Use your nails to poke four holes in it. Two holes should be in the upper part near the neck and two on opposite side faces at the bottom. The bottom holes should be no more than two centimeters apart, and the top holes can be made even closer.

Step 2

Pass one end of the wire through the top two holes. Wrap the wire around the plastic bottle five times. Avoid sagging the bottle. Make sure there are no gaps between the rings.

Step 3

Make a loop at the end of the wire and drag it over a pencil or pen. Continue wrapping the wire around the bottle until you reach the bottom. Then insert the handle into the bottom hole in the bottle.

Step 4

Strip the insulation from the free ends of the wire at the bottom and top of the plastic bottle. Use a knife or wire cutters for this. Remember to remove the insulation on the loop around the handle.

Step 5

Install a germanium diode at the bottom of the bottle. Solder it to the wrapping around the bottle with Teflon wire.

Step 6

Cut and strip one end of the telephone wire to reach the internal contacts. Separate the ends of the yellow and blue contacts. These are the transmitter wires. Attach the yellow pin to the free end of the germanium diode. Also solder the blue wire to the end of the wire at the top of the plastic bottle to complete the circuit. Connect the uncut end of the wire to the handset.

Step 7

Attach the binder to the bare wire at the top of the plastic bottle. Connect the other end of the wire to the piece of metal that touches the ground. This will be ground.

Step 8

Attach another jumper wire to the end of the insulated wire, about fifty meters long. Connect its end to one of the wires connected to the plastic bottle. Now you can listen to radio broadcasts through the handset. Connect to different wire rings to adjust the signal. Secure the 50m wire as high as possible to improve the quality of the received signal.

Step 9

Switch to transmitter mode by connecting the long outer wire to the germanium diode pin.

Step 10

Place the crown close to the antenna, but do not allow contact between them. Press on the two connectors on the top of the battery with a coin. Continue pressing the battery contacts. This will interrupt the signal transmitted by the receiver. To communicate in Morse code and respond to messages you hear in receive mode, tap on contacts at regular intervals.
