If no Internet service provider has pulled the fiber optic cable to your home, don't despair. You can connect to the Internet in other ways, and the speed of such connections will be almost the same as that of fiber.
Instructions
Step 1
A real alternative to a fiber-optic network is Internet access via a telephone line using ADSL technology. If you have a landline phone in your home, contact your service provider to find out if they provide Internet access. In case of a positive answer, ask the operator to check if it is technically possible to connect your particular apartment. If possible, leave your application for connection at the office of the telecommunications company. As a rule, for this you will have to pay an amount equal to the monthly subscription fee for the tariff you selected.
Step 2
In addition to the application for connection, to access the Internet you will need a special device - an ADSL modem. Purchase an ADSL modem at any computer store. Modems are different, choose a device based on your own needs. The USB ADSL modem is power independent and easy to set up. Classic ADSL modem provides faster connection speed. A modem with a router function will allow you to connect multiple computers to the Internet. To configure the device, insert the CD that comes with it into the drive, and in the setup wizard, enter the login and password given to you by your provider. After setup, you will get a stable and high-speed Internet connection via a telephone line.
Step 3
If your home does not have a landline telephone, then Internet access can be provided using wireless technologies. To do this, purchase a USB modem from any cellular operator (when choosing, be guided by the prices and coverage area of the operator). Conclude a connection contract by providing your passport details and address. Setting up a USB modem is extremely simple: connect it to your computer, install the necessary software (directly from the modem's memory) and click the "Connect" button. Please note that mobile Internet has practically no really unlimited tariffs. When a certain amount of traffic is consumed, the connection speed will drop to a certain value (its value is indicated in the information about the tariff).
