Before the advent of digital photography, there was a boom in the purchase of scanners in the world. Every photographer dreamed of a good scanner. Because a photograph without the original (film) was generally considered a lost photograph. The scanner made it possible to digitize the photo. Then the photographer processed the picture, removed the noise and defects of the photograph, which the picture acquired over the years. Later, scanners gained even more importance - every student wanted to see it in their home. Nothing was easier than scanning a lecture or someone else's test.

Instructions
Step 1
Since then, hardly anything has changed in the matter of connecting the scanner to a computer. The main advantage then was the presence of a USB input, which is the main data transfer interface for scanning devices. Now scanners are produced both with USB and with a port connector for connection.
Most often, a port connection replaces the USB bus. But after so many years, the priorities in the market have not changed, so today scanners that work with SCSI controllers or scanning devices that use a parallel port for their work are also developed.
Step 2
It is worth noting that the problem can occur if one of these operating systems was installed on your computer: Micrisoft Vista or Windows XP, while your scanner is connected only through the parallel port. The fact is that the above systems do not support such a scanner connection. But do not be afraid, as it is easy to find an optimized driver for your scanner on the Internet, which will ensure its full functioning. Now about connecting via SCSI bus. First of all, you need to take care of installing the driver for your controller. For this, any of the free PCI bus slots will suit you.
Step 3
In general, the installation should proceed as follows:
- connecting the scanner to a computer and a network with special cables;
- turning on the computer and the scanner;
- installation of the scanner driver and, if possible, additional software;
- scan check.
