Instructions

Step 1

Find out the version of the current printer firmware by printing a configuration report (do not confuse this report with the information on the card or on the machine's nameplate). To do this, hold down the STOP button located on the front panel of the printer for a few seconds. The printer light will then flash and a report will be printed. In the document, notice the Firmvare Version line. Set the report aside, as you will need it later.

Step 2

If your printer has firmware version V3.00.01.08 or lower, you can update it using the same firmware. Version V3.00.01.09 is updated only with the corresponding firmware. Download the appropriate firmware version from the manufacturer's website and unpack its archive. Find the ChangeSN.exe file in the USB-Serial-Number folder, run it and enter the appropriate serial number (usually it is listed in the report). If your version is V3.00.01.08 or lower, enter Z5IGBFEZC00780A and V3.00.01.09 is Z5IGBFBB701231E. Select the function "Change Serial Number Via USB", then click "OK" and close the program window.

Step 3

Restart the printer (turn off and on again). Print the configuration report again, find the Firmvare Version line, and see if the Machine Serial Number has changed since the original report. If you have followed all the steps correctly, the number should change successfully, and you can continue the process of flashing the printer.

Step 4

Find the firmware file of the appropriate version in the unpacked archive. It has a. HD extension. Drag it with the mouse to the file "usbprns2.exe". After that, a black window will appear on the screen with a description of the process of flashing the device, and the indicators on the printer itself will blink. After the printer is automatically rebooted, issue a new report and see if the firmware version has changed.
