Before buying, you should have a rough idea of what information you will print and copy on this device. Based on this, you can decide if you need full color printing, what sheet size you will use, how many pages per month you will print and copy.

Some MFPs are equipped with post-processing facilities, if you need to staple, staple or roll the resulting sheets, with such devices it will be much easier.

The cost of an MFP is not only the price indicated on the price tag in the store, it is worth adding to it the cost of servicing the device. Calculate the cost per page to print or copy per MFP, then multiply by the estimated number of pages per month. Decide if you are happy with that monthly service price.

Some MFPs are very difficult to use, these are real machines with a control panel, they are more productive and automated, but you cannot figure them out right away, you may have to hire a special MFP operator for them. This is reasonable if the volume of work on the MFP is large and constant, but for a simple office printer-scanner-copier, on which occasionally any documents are printed, and even more so for a home MFP, such complexity is not needed. You can choose a very simple device with an intuitive interface.
