There comes a time when a color laser printer runs out of toner, but this can be quickly fixed. All you need to do for this is to reinstall the cartridge that contains the toner. This operation will take a few minutes.
It is necessary
- - Laser printer;
- - a new toner cartridge.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the cover of your printer and remove the drum unit containing the toner cartridge from the MFP. Pull down the lock lever and remove the toner cartridge from the drum unit. Place the drum unit on a piece of paper or cloth to keep toner from spilling onto the table surface. When replacing a toner cartridge, be careful if it gets on your clothes or hands, and immediately wash it off with cold water. Place the used cartridge in an aluminum bag and dispose of it according to local regulations.
Step 2
Unpack the toner cartridge you just purchased. This must be done before installing it into the printer. After unpacking the toner cartridge, it will begin to dry out. Hold the cartridge horizontally with both hands and gently shake it from side to side five to six times to distribute the toner evenly inside.
Step 3
Insert the new toner cartridge firmly into the drum unit until it snaps into place. When installed correctly, you will see the locking lever automatically cocked.
Step 4
Clean the corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding the blue tab to the right and left several times. Put the foot back in place before installing the drum unit in the printer. Install the drum unit with a new toner cartridge in your machine, close the cover.
Step 5
Do not use any aerosols or flammable substances to clean the outside and inside of the machine. This could cause electric shock or fire.
Step 6
Some parts of the inside of the printer remain quite hot immediately after using the MFP. Be careful not to touch anything with your bare hands.
