Abroad, sensor technologies are used in all kinds of products. There are information kiosks and shopping touchscreen terminals there, not to mention car multimedia systems, computers and PDAs. This technology is also widespread in our country, but the fact is that not everyone can afford sensor technology. But there is a way how to make a touch screen with your own hands.

Instructions

Step 1

Use a regular 15-inch monitor as a raw material. Unscrew the fastening bolts and remove the bezel (it may be on the latches, not on the bolts - open them with a screwdriver). Detach the screen from the monitor case. Do this carefully so as not to break the internal loops and wires.

Step 2

Put the screen aside and take care of the USB controller. Wrap it up with electrical tape, just in case (it still doesn't get warm, so you don't have to worry about it). Glue the double-sided tape on the back, with which the controller will be attached to the case (it will be quite enough, because there will be no effort on the touchscreen).

Step 3

Glue the USB controller to the case (glue it so that it does not peek out from behind the metal cover, but is level with it, because then you will need to put the screen in place).

Step 4

Remove the extra "ribs" from the bottom of the monitor fan grill. This is to route the USB controller cable out. To do this, use a soldering iron and a regular scalpel or knife. Remove the cable and secure it with plastic ties (then the cable will not dangle during assembly and will not accidentally break out during operation).

Step 5

Rinse the monitor screen thoroughly and attach a thin double-sided tape to the steel frame of the monitor screen. Then glue the touch screen glass on it. Connect the touchscreen and USB controller using a ribbon cable. Since the flex is quite thin, wrap it around the screen and around the base of the screen. Glue it too so it doesn't dangle.

Step 6

Put on the mounting plate. If during installation the front panel presses on the touchscreen and interferes with the cabling, make small protrusions at the corners of the monitor and attach the panel to them. Test drive your touchscreen. If everything worked out, congratulations!
