The iPhone has a loud standard ring, but many phone users are already accustomed to putting their favorite melody on the smartphone's ringtone, which is not so easy to do in an Apple device.

Instructions

Step 1

Download from the Internet the melody you like that you would like to ring your phone. Connect the iPhone via a cable to the computer and open the iTunes application.

Step 2

Click on "add a file to your library …" in iTunes and in the window that opens, select the desired song. You can also open this window using the Ctrl + O keys. Check how the file sounds, whether it is loud, because it is very important to hear when they call you. Select a section of the song about 25 seconds long, but no more than 30 seconds, otherwise the ringtone will not work.

Step 3

Start creating a ringtone: right-click on the selected song, select the "information" menu item, and in the window that opens, the "parameters" tab. In this tab you will see lines with the names "start" and "stop time". In the first line, enter the first second of the segment that you selected, and in the second - the last second. Click "OK", the dialog box will close.

Step 4

Right click on the song again and now click Create AAC Version. A duplicate of the song with the same name, but about 30 seconds long, should appear below this song. Grab the song with the mouse by clicking on it with the left button and, without releasing it, drag it to the computer desktop. In the program, a duplicate song can already be deleted.

Step 5

Your ringtone appears on the desktop, but in the wrong format. Now it's.m4a, but you need.m4r. To do this, you just need to delete one letter in the extension and write another. If you do not see the file extension, then to be able to change it, do the following. Go to the "Control Panel", which is located on the right in the "Start" panel, open the "Folder Options" folder, in it select the second "View" tab, and in it, in the additional options, uncheck the "Hide permissions for registered file types" checkbox. Now you can change the extension of any file.

Step 6

Double-click the left mouse button on the ringtone, and it will open in iTunes in the ringtones folder. Now click on "Sync Selected Sounds" by checking the box next to the new ringtone. After synchronization, the call will appear on the phone.

Step 7

Disconnect the phone from the computer and go to the "settings" menu item, then select "sounds", then "ringtone". Your new ringtone should appear first in the list - click on it. Listen to if it sounds good, and now you can exit the menu. When you call, the melody you have set will play.
