There is a crack or scratch on your iPhone screen. We'll have to change the glass. You can, of course, contact the service center. In this case, your phone will be taken for diagnostics, then repairs will be carried out. How long all these procedures will take is unknown. If you do not want to part with your mobile friend for a long time, you can do the glass replacement operation yourself.
Necessary
- - new glass;
- - screwdriver;
- - suction cup;
- - thin knife;
- - hairdryer;
- - special double-sided tape for attaching iPhone 3g / gs glass (or glue).
Instructions
Step 1
There are two screws on the sides of the charging port. To lift the glass, you need to unscrew them.
Step 2
After that, take an ordinary suction cup (any one will do: from a toy to glass or a suction cup from bathroom fixtures). The suction cup must be stuck in the area of the Home button (just above it). Pull on the suction cup slightly to raise the screen.
Step 3
Inside, you will see three ribbon cables that connect the screen to the motherboard. We must turn them off. Using the tip of a knife, detach the two stubs by prying them off slightly. To release the third train, gently lift the thin plate at the base of the train with the tip of a knife and pull a little on the train. The screen is now detached.
Step 4
The back of the screen is covered with a metal plate. Unscrew the six screws that hold this plate. After that, you can separate the display from the glass by slightly prying the plate. If you bought a glass assembly with a frame, then at this stage you can already replace it.
Step 5
If you have a new glass without a frame, then you need to free the frame from the old glass. To do this, heat the frame around the perimeter with a hair dryer. Gently pry the glass and separate it from the frame.
Step 6
Clean the frame from glue residues. After that, glue the new glass to the frame using special double-sided tape for attaching iPhone glass, or just glue. In doing so, try to keep the new cables under the frame.
Step 7
Now reassemble your iPhone following this instruction in reverse order.
