The length of an SMS message is limited to 160 characters. Cyrillic in such messages is transmitted in Unicode encoding, which additionally reduces the number of characters by more than half. It is clear that this is not always enough.

Use the function of "gluing" messages. It is available in almost any modern phone. But remember that a "glued" message consists of several ordinary ones, and therefore will cost significantly more. In addition, there is a possibility, albeit a small one, that the phone of the receiving subscriber is not designed to display such messages. Then they will be displayed as a set of several separate ones.
Step 2
Type your message in Latin letters. In this case, even without using "gluing", you will be able to transmit twice as many characters in one message as in Cyrillic, and when using "gluing", you will spend twice less on transmitting a message of the same length.
Step 3
Try to use in the message Latin letters, similar in outline to Russian, numbers, pseudo-graphic symbols. Below is an example of text typed in this way:

Some legacy phones, which don't even support Unicode, allow you to type in uppercase Greek letters. Any such letter occupies not two bytes in the message, but one, and at the same time, it is displayed correctly even by such modern phones on which it cannot be dialed.

Consider sending MMS instead of SMS. Of course, this can only be done if both devices support this service and are on the home network. If so, you can transfer a very long text message (equivalent in length to several dozen ordinary ones), moreover, by attaching graphic objects to it, and pay - just like for a few ordinary ones. In addition, some operators provide the service of unlimited MMS sending for a very modest monthly fee.
Step 5
Finally, if you do not want or do not have the opportunity to use any of the above tips, try to convey as much information as possible in a message of limited length using various abbreviations and abbreviations. They do not have to be generally accepted, the main thing is to agree on a set of them with the addressee once in advance.
