When working with video files, you often need to compress the video. Typically, compression is performed for the larger capacity of movies on disk. To avoid this problem, you need to convert the video file with a lower compression ratio, or use a file format that allows you to do a lot of compression with minimal loss of quality. This format, or rather the codec, is H264 (X264).

Step 1
To reduce the size of a video file with little loss of quality, you can use any complex for converting audio and video files. Our choice fell on the Meg Ui program. This utility quickly copes with the tasks assigned to it. After you download the distribution of this program to your computer, install the program on the system drive (C).
Step 2
When you start the program, the main window will appear in front of you, in which all the basic steps for converting the file will be performed. Click the File menu, select the Open item, in the window that opens, find and select the video file, then click the "Open" button.

After loading the video file into the program, a new preview window will appear in front of you so that you do not accidentally confuse the selected file with any other. Close this window and make sure that the file you have selected really suits you.

In the main window of the program, you must specify the conversion format and other parameters. Select MKV format then H264 (X264). After creating your configuration of the future file, you can see how it will look after the conversion operation. If everything suits you, click the Save button. A window will open in which you can specify the location to save the future file.
