It is difficult to overestimate the main advantage of new generation communication (3g) - data transfer speed. It is capable of reaching 7 Mbps. However, unfortunately, this speed is available only to those who are near the base station, and the rest are forced to be content with the kilobytes of Internet traffic squeezed out using GPRS / EDGE. To increase the speed of the 3G modem, external antennas are used, which you can make yourself.
It is necessary

- - a cap for hairspray.
Instructions
Step 1
Bend the wire: it should make two squares with sides of 53 mm. Then stretch out these squares a little, making rhombuses out of them, the two angles of which should be 120 degrees.
Step 2
Strip the prepared wire (after the connector is put on the wire, its protected part should protrude another centimeter). Then solder a part of the wire to the connector body: you should get a "plug".
Step 3
Solder the "plug" to the antenna frame. However, in order to increase the power of a homemade antenna for a 3G modem, this device must be equipped with a reflector. A metal plate made of PCB or plywood wrapped in foil can be used as a reflector.
Step 4
The reflector should have the following dimensions: 120 x 135 millimeters. Mark the metal plate and cut it off. Drill a hole in the middle of the reflector: the diameter of the hole should be equal to the thickness of the wire used in the construction.
Step 5
The distance between the antenna and the reflector should be exactly 36 millimeters. In this case, a hairspray cap is perfect: make grooves in it, insert the wire and secure it.
Step 6
So that the structure you made does not fall apart, treat all its joints with silicone. Then wrap the 3g modem with the center wire (make four to five turns), and put on the foil on the second. After you assemble your homemade antenna, find a place with the best signal and install your invention there.
