In the recent past, we used post offices to communicate with each other. At present, modern man, keeping up with the times, uses the short message service (SMS) for the transmission of written messages. But at all times it was necessary to ensure the safety of personal correspondence. Nowadays, to protect private messages, most mobile phone manufacturers have provided a function to set a password for SMS messages.
Instructions
Step 1
To set a password for messages through the mobile phone menu, go to the "Settings" menu, then to the "Security" section. In the "Security" section, the password is most often set through the "Personal data protection" function (the name of the function may differ depending on the brand and / or model of the mobile phone).
Step 2
By choosing the function "Protection of personal data", you may be offered to set a password for contacts, personal files, messages (also depending on the brand and / or model of the phone). In the proposed list, select "Messages" and press the "OK" button. After completing these steps, you will be required to enter a password. In most cases, the password for protecting private messages is the same as the phone lock code. By default, the mobile phone manufacturer can set the codes "0000", "1234" or "12345". If the manufacturer has preset a code (password) for the phone, then it must be indicated in the instructions attached to the mobile phone.
Step 3
It is recommended that you change the code (password) to provide better protection for your private messages. To do this, select the "Change password" function in the "Security" section ("Menu"> "Settings"> "Security"). You will be prompted to enter the old password (the password set by the manufacturer), then enter the new password, then the new password must be repeated. The new password must include from 4 to 8 characters, most often numbers and / or letters of the Latin alphabet can be used for a password combination. It is recommended that you write down the new password. If you lose your password, you must contact the service center.
Step 4
The set code (password) to protect messages will need to be entered every time you select the "Messages" section. After completing the above steps, the security of your personal correspondence will be ensured.
