The default ringtones and message alert sounds on Samsung phones are not to everyone's liking. But you can set your own ringtones. Including as a signal about an incoming text message. See how to do this using the Samsung Wave 525 smartphone as an example.
Necessary

Instructions
Step 1
Select the melody that you would like to set as a sound signal. Any sound files of the following formats are suitable: mp3, wav, mmf, wma, xmf, midi, amr, imy, aac, m4a. You can download a ready-made ringtone from SamsungApps or from the website of your mobile operator, record any sounds on a dictaphone, create a melody yourself in a music editor, etc.
Step 2
Do not set your entire favorite song as the message alert. When an SMS arrives, it will play from beginning to end, which is terribly inconvenient at inopportune times, and the battery capacity is not infinite. If you like a hit, just cut a fragment out of it. For example, using a free online audio cutter mp3cut.
Step 3
Go to the program page https://mp3cut.foxcom.su/ Click on the "Download" button and select the desired music file on your computer. Play the melody.
Step 4
Move the "scissors" with the mouse to mark the fragment of the file you need. Use the arrows on your computer keyboard to more accurately indicate where to cut. When everything is ready, click the "Trim" button and set a name under which the ringtone will be saved on your computer.
Step 5
Copy the created audio file to the "Sounds" folder of your phone in any way convenient for you (via a data cable or Bluetooth). It is undesirable to store ringtones on a memory card. If you extract it, the settings are lost and you have to reassign all sounds.
Step 6
Enter the menu of your phone and select "My files". Open the Sounds folder. Select the desired file in it and start playback by simply tapping on it with your finger.
Step 7
Click on the button with three dots at the bottom of the screen. In the menu that appears, select the "Install as" item.
Step 8
Press your finger on the line "Message melody" in the pop-up window. Your ringtone is now set. To exit the menu, press the end call key.
