The terrestrial antenna is connected to the TV using a special cable. In this way, several television receivers can be connected to the antenna without significant costs. The cable connection should be carried out observing the rules for switching electrical devices and using the connection diagram provided in the technical documentation for the TV.

It is necessary

  • - antenna amplifier;
  • - splitter;
  • - antenna cable;
  • - knife (scalpel);
  • - nippers;
  • - soldering iron.

Instructions

Step 1

If the signal is unstable and insufficiently strong, use an aerial amplifier when connecting the cable. To connect several television receivers, also prepare a splitter (scrub).

Step 2

Install the amplifier, splitter and antenna cable in the immediate vicinity of the TV distribution. In a private house, it is more convenient to do this in the attic. If there is no TV wiring, run the cable directly to the place where the TV will be installed.

Step 3

When installing the cable, run it outside the wall or connect it to internal communications, and hide it inside the room under the baseboards.

Step 4

Connect the cable lead from the antenna to the corresponding terminal on the amplifier. From it, the signal is fed to a divider, directly to which television receivers are connected.

Step 5

When using a satellite dish, use an intermediate device - the receiver. In this case, connect the cable directly to the receiver through the antenna jack.

Step 6

Before connecting the cable to the antenna, prepare it for connection. Cut the upper braid of the cable with a sharp knife or scalpel approximately 40 mm from the end. Peel back the shield under the braid and expose the next insulating layer.

Step 7

Peel off the cut off part of the second insulating layer, leaving the copper strand exposed. Strip the core with the tip of a knife and cut to the required length (approx. 20 mm).

Step 8

Screw the bottom of the detachable plug onto the braid, threading the cable core into the plug. Insert the bare wire into the second part of the plug and tighten both parts. Carefully remove the remnants of the antenna cable sheathing. The cable is ready for connection.

Step 9

Before turning on the television receiver, carefully check the correct connection of the switching devices and the tightness of the plugs in the sockets. If the screen displays a weak signal or ripples, adjust the antenna amplifier, referring to the technical documentation supplied with it.
