The method of connecting the television coaxial cable to the plug depends on the design of the latter. Some plugs are soldered, others are screwed.
Instructions
Step 1
If it is possible to choose a plug when purchasing, give preference to one that does not require soldering. Even if you solder well, such a plug will save you a lot of time, because tinning a coaxial cable is not an easy operation. It is necessary to overheat it a little, and the braid will close to the central core.
Step 2
Disassemble the plug carefully. Do not forget to thread the cable through the cover before starting work, because when it is already connected, it will not be possible to do this - you will have to start all over again.
Step 3
Make a longitudinal notch on the outer layer of insulation with a soldering iron - it, unlike a knife, cuts only the shell, but not the braid. After removing the insulation, untwist the braid, slide it to the side, then twist it. Now, using pliers, having accurately calculated the effort so as not to bite the central core, remove the inner insulation from it.
Step 4
If the plug requires soldering, quickly, so as not to melt the insulation, tin both the braid and the center conductor. Now attach (by soldering or by screws, depending on the plug design) the braid to the ring contact of the plug, and the center conductor to the rod.
Step 5
Assemble the plug. Disconnect the TV from the mains, connect the plug to it, and then turn on the unit again.
Step 6
A special case arises if the plug is connected to an antenna equipped with an amplifier. For this, only the plug supplied with the antenna, equipped with an isolating device and a power supply unit, is suitable. The wires from the latter are already soldered into the miniature plug board. Just in case, sketch the location of the conductors so that if they come off, solder them back (do not forget about the polarity - one of the conductors is marked). Connect the coaxial cable as described above. Attach both the braid and the center conductor with screws - these plugs are usually designed for just this way of fixing them.
