The antenna cable is for connecting an outdoor antenna to an indoor access point. The antenna cable improves the quality of the received signal. It is recommended to use a special adapter to connect the antenna cable.
Instructions
Step 1
The antenna cable does not bend well, so a flexible adapter is required for correct installation. Connectors are commercially available for a 6 mm antenna cable with a thick center conductor.
Step 2
No soldering equipment is required to mount the connector. Strip the top insulation about 20 mm. Trim the top layer of insulation around the circumference. Be careful not to damage the metal braid when doing this. Wrap the braid on the outside of the cable, like a stocking.
Step 3
Strip the inner insulation of the center conductor. Screw the sleeve onto the wrapped braid using pliers. The coaxial connector is ready. Screw the antenna connections of multiple receivers onto it, connect the plug to the splitter and antenna amplifier.
Step 4
Extension of the antenna cable in order to lengthen it is carried out precisely by means of the connector device, ordinary twisting or soldering will lead to a deterioration in the operating parameters of the cable. Another option for extending the antenna cable is to use a special flexible extension cord. When assembled, the extension is a drum with a flexible antenna wire placed on it, covered with a plastic casing.
Step 5
When using a rigid antenna cable, do not bend or twist it in coils - this can lead to a significant deterioration in the signal quality.
