Firmware is the software of your device, which is responsible for its normal operation. However, over time, defects may appear in the program or you may want to make some changes. To do this, you must first disassemble the firmware, then make adjustments and save the new settings.
Instructions
Step 1
Find on the Internet a special program for unpacking the firmware. The fact is that many devices are protected from opening, so most often your actions can damage the performance of the program. Especially if you are not good at programming. In this regard, it is recommended to use special utilities. For example, the Nokia Editor application has been developed for Nokia phones.
Step 2
Download the firmware unpacking application to your personal computer and install. Be sure to check the downloaded files for viruses, as such documents are often infected. Run the program after installation.
Step 3
Synchronize your device with personal computers. Typically, most portable and mobile devices are now sold with dedicated data cables for connecting to a computer or laptop. If you do not have it, then get it in a special store or on the radio market. Be sure to check on site that the cable is suitable for your device.
Step 4
Connect your phone to your computer and copy all the information from it to a separate folder on local drives. This is necessary in case your actions for editing the firmware lead to the loss of information. If your device requires a special program to view the data on it, then download it from the Internet or install it from the driver disk that came with the device upon purchase.
Step 5
Specify the model of your device in the flashing program, then specify the address where the firmware is located and click "Unpack" or "Disassemble". As a result, you should have files in rofs2 or fat16 format that can be opened for editing by programs such as rofs2, MagicISO or WinImage.
