Samsung LCD monitors are widespread and popular. Despite their reliability and unpretentiousness, sometimes they still fail. Having decided to fix the monitor on their own, the user already at the first stage of the repair is faced with the problem of disassembling the monitor.
Instructions
Step 1
In the overwhelming majority of cases, the malfunction of Samsung LCD monitors is associated with the failure of the capacitors of the power supply, they can be easily identified by their characteristic swelling. Replacing them is a matter of a few minutes, but in order to get to the board with the parts, you first need to disassemble the monitor.
Step 2
Disassembling a Samsung monitor is quite simple and takes no more than ten minutes. Unplug the power cord, place the monitor face down on something soft. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the screws holding the "leg" of the monitor. Remove it and set it aside.
Step 3
Find the joint of the front and rear panels on the side of the monitor case. Insert a screwdriver with a thin flat end into this joint and slightly push the panels apart. Insert a second screwdriver blade sideways into the gap.
Step 4
Move the first screwdriver further and slide the panels apart again. At some point, you will hear a loud sharp click - this will open the latch that connects the panels. Moving a screwdriver around the perimeter will gradually release all latches and separate the front and back panels.
Step 5
Use the screwdrivers very carefully to avoid damaging the monitor case. Instead of a screwdriver, you can use a piece of hard, hard plastic such as a discount card. You can try to find a special tool, it is sold as a tool for opening cell phone cases - a small triangular plastic petal. It is most convenient for them to work, but a discount card is also quite suitable.
Step 6
Insert the card into the joint, and hook it with the corner of the front panel of the monitor. Once you have succeeded in creating a gap between the panels, slide the card along the perimeter until all latches open.
Step 7
Carefully remove the back of the monitor. On one side of the monitor, you will see a protective metal plate, unscrew the screws and remove it. Then disconnect the connectors of the wires going to the electronic board, usually there are three of them - two on one side and one on the other. If the third wire is additionally secured with tape, peel it off.
Step 8
Open, like a book, a block with electronic components. Now unscrew the screws holding the board, disconnect the connector. The board is free, you can take it out for inspection and repair.
