A SIM (Subscriber Identification Module) card is a small plastic rectangle with a built-in microcircuit. It stores information necessary to identify a subscriber in a cellular network. A SIM card can be purchased at any office of a mobile operator.
It is necessary
- - identity document;
- - mobile phone.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose the mobile operator whose tariff plan suits you best. Contact your nearest office to connect. You can find out the addresses of corporate communications offices on the official websites of the operators: www.mts.ru (MTS), www.beeline.ru (Beeline), www.megafon.ru (Megafon), www.ru.tele2.ru (Tele2). To search for regional telecom operators, use the Internet search engines
Step 2
To connect, you need an identity document: a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, in case of loss of a passport - a temporary identity card. Servicemen can show a military ID or a serviceman's identity card along with a certificate of registration. Foreign citizens must have a passport with a mark of registration in the territory of the Russian Federation. If you are under the age of 18, contact an adult mobile phone salon to register a SIM card for it.
Step 3
After receiving the SIM, insert it into your phone. Please note that the built-in microcircuit must be in contact with the phone contacts. Usually, there is a picture of how to insert it into the phone correctly next to the place where the SIM is inserted.
Step 4
Switch on your phone. Enter your PIN. It is indicated in the documents issued to the SIM card (PIN1), as well as on the plastic card from which you removed the SIM. If you entered the PIN incorrectly several times, the phone will ask you to enter the PUK. Be careful, if you enter the PUK code incorrectly, the SIM card will be blocked.
Step 5
After entering the codes, the SIM card is registered in the network, and you will see the name of the mobile operator on the phone screen.
Step 6
If your SIM has already been registered, but the next time you turn on the phone, you see “not registered” on the screen, then contact the operator's office with your passport. If the problem lies in the microcircuit of the card, then you will be given a new SIM, with the same number. If the card turned out to be blocked due to the fact that you have not used it for several months, then there are two options for the development of events. If your number was not given to the new subscriber and the account has a positive balance, the SIM will be unblocked and you can use it again. If your number is assigned to another subscriber, then you will be offered to connect a new SIM.
