Today, electronic scales are widely used to measure the amount of ingredients in the manufacture of various dishes (tabletop), measure body weight (floor). But, unfortunately, any electronics breaks down sooner or later. If you follow some recommendations, you can repair the balance yourself.

Instructions

Step 1

First of all, check the suitability of the batteries for the electronic scale. To do this, carefully remove the balance housing. Remove the batteries, check their operation on another electronic device (known to be working). If the matter is in dead batteries, just replace them with new ones.

Step 2

Look at the ribbon cable that connects the scale board and display. It can be loosely adjacent to them, which is the cause of the device malfunction. It is necessary to slightly lift the board and press it firmly against the display. To do this, take a small piece of wood and place it between the board and the bottom of the case.

Step 3

Pay attention to the contact ends of the balance, which when working (pressing on them) tightly adjoin the special legs of the balance. Frequent use may cause the metal of the contacts to become thinner and the balance will give an error. Find a suitable sized relay, replace the contacts on it, then attach wires to them (better to solder).

Step 4

Clean the electronic scale. Carefully remove food particles in a kitchen scale or dust in a floor scale that have gotten inside during use. Wipe the balance with a dry towel if water accidentally gets into it. It is likely that this was the cause of the failure. Please note that electronic scales show an inaccurate weight if the weighing value exceeds the limit.

Step 5

Calibrate the balance. To do this, press the button and hold it until the display shows CAL (more than 30 seconds). Then the digital mass value should appear, with which the calibration will be carried out. Any item with an accurate weight can be used as a reference. After a few seconds, the word PASS appears on the display. Calibration completed. Clear the display and turn off the balance. If the calibration fails, FAIL appears. Try the operation again.
