Certain mobile phone models are equipped with a memory card lock function. File protection is usually achieved by setting a password. There are several methods to disable this protection.
Necessary
- - computer;
- - card reader.
Instructions
Step 1
If you know the password and want to disable its verification when accessing the flash card, open the required menu of the mobile phone. Select "Remove Password". Enter the specified combination and click the Ok button.
Step 2
Most often, it becomes necessary to unlock a memory card in situations where its password is unknown. In such cases, full formatting of the flash drive helps. Try this procedure with your mobile phone first.
Step 3
If, when trying to format the drive, the system prompts for a password, remove the USB flash drive from the device and connect it to the computer. To work with flash drives in MMC format, use the appropriate card reader. Purchase this device or connect a USB flash drive to the built-in laptop card reader.
Step 4
Open the My Computer menu. Find the MMC-card icon and right-click on it. Go to "Formatting". In the options for cleaning the map, select the file system that is not currently in use. Click the "Start" button and wait while the utility cleans up the memory card.
Step 5
If you need to restore the file system in use, repeat the formatting procedure with new parameters.
Step 6
If the standard Windows utility fails to complete the required steps, download the USB Format Storage software from HP. Install and run this utility.
Step 7
Select the desired drive in the Device field. Set the type of file system to which this flash drive will be converted. Click the Format button and wait for the procedure to complete.
Step 8
You can also use another built-in utility. Open Windows Management Console. Go to the contents of the flash drive by entering its letter in the working window. Type the command convert / FS: FAT32 (NTFS). Press the Enter key.
