Step 1
In order to configure a 3g modem, connect it to the USB port of your computer. After 5-10 seconds, the computer will inform you that a new device has been detected. Often 3g modems are recognized as storage devices or CDs with files. This, in fact, is the data that will be needed for the subsequent installation and configuration of the modem. If recognition does not happen, remove the modem and re-insert it into the USB connector.
Step 2
Open the My Computer group menu on your desktop. Start the newly detected CD drive or drive. Many modem software contains autorun files. If autorun does not work, then run the setup.exe installation file manually. During the installation, the program will ask you to select the language of use and determine the installation location for the software application. After copying the files, the computer will automatically update the system.
Step 3
Start configuring your modem. After installing a new software application, a new icon will appear in the Start menu. Start a new application and check your Internet connection. Find and click on the Internet settings button. The basic settings required are usually entered by the cellular operator at the factory. All other settings need to be found out in the support service of the mobile operator or from the sellers of mobile phone stores.
Step 4
After completing all the settings, click on the "Connect" button and start working on the network. It should be noted that modern 3g modems are very reliable devices. If there are any failures in the process of connecting to the network, make sure that the modem is correctly connected to the USB connector and that your mobile operator has enough Internet tools on your account.
Step 5
Any modern computer becomes a source of all kinds of magnetic fields and interference during operation. In this case, the built-in modem is exactly in the center of this field. Since it is impossible to completely neutralize the interference, you can move the modem farther to improve the quality of communication. For this we need a regular USB extension cable. These are sold in any computer store. You need an extension cord longer than 1.5 meters (more than 3 meters can lead to malfunctions, since the computer will not see the modem due to strong signal attenuation). Connect the modem through an extension cable to your computer. This, as a rule, leads to a significant improvement in the quality of communication.
