Step 1
One of the most important characteristics of a multimedia projector is the brightness (luminous flux) of the transmitted image. If you are going to use a projector with a screen that is 2-3 meters wide, then choose a projector with a brightness of at least 2000 lumens.
Step 2
The quality of the perceived image is determined by its contrast. Pay special attention to this indicator when choosing a multimedia projector.
Step 3
Naturally, do not forget about the nominal resolution supported by the projector. Do not confuse it with the maximum, because not all devices are capable of reproducing high-definition pictures in all operating modes. To work with computer graphics and HD video, use a projector that supports a resolution of 1600x1200 or higher.
Step 4
Pay attention to the type of focusing of the image. When working with manual focus, you will have to constantly change the position of the projector or the canvas. Such devices are not suitable for ceiling mounting. Better to choose a model with a motorized lens. It is important to note that manual focus is generally more accurate.
Step 5
Find out the projection distance supported by the device. Almost any device can be used when installing the projector in a fixed area. Check for speaker and amplifier if necessary.
Step 6
Find a multimedia projector with the signal receiving ports you need. These can be analog D-Sub, modern digital ports like DVI, or legacy S-video channels.
Step 7
It is better to use digital channels to connect to personal computers or laptops. This is true if the projector operates with high resolution (HD and FullHD).
