In most countries where iPhones are officially sold, the AppStore contains a special Ringtones section that allows you to select and buy your favorite ringtone from iTunes. In Russia, this function is not supported, so you have to look for other solutions to the problem.

Instructions
Step 1
Make sure you understand the settings for your iPhone ringtone: AAC audio file no longer than 40 seconds, and select the desired ringtone from your library.
Step 2
Download and install the tool for limiting the size of a piece of music mp3DirectCut.
Step 3
Create a ringtone of the desired size and launch iTunes.
Step 4
Move the created piece of music to the library by dragging and dropping the file to the left side of the iTunes application window and call the context menu of the created object by clicking the right mouse button.
Step 5
Specify the "Create version for AAC format" command and repeat the procedure for calling the context menu for the created version.
Step 6
Select the "Copy" command and create a copy of the selected file in an arbitrary folder on your desktop.
Step 7
Press the alt="Image" function key and select the "Folder Options" command from the "Tools" menu in the upper pane of the application window.
Step 8
Go to the "View" tab of the dialog box that opens and uncheck the "Hide extensions of registered file types" box.
Step 9
Change the extension of the saved file to m4r and add it to your iTunes library. This action will display the created ringtone in the Ringtones section of your media library.

Connect your iPhone and specify the desired ringtones in the device window.

Use the dedicated iRinger application to simplify and automate the process of creating your own ringtones. The application is free and distributed freely.

Take advantage of the free online service Audiko.net, which performs the same functions and offers a huge selection of ringtones to download.
