There are organizations that hold campaigns for the acceptance of old devices, exchanging them for new ones with a small surcharge. Often, home appliances stores offer to exchange outdated phone models for new ones. However, keep in mind that the quality of new devices can be very questionable.

Return a used phone to a recycling center if it is in poor condition or so old that there is no way to sell (exchange) it. They will take care of the disposal of the unusable device without harm to people and the environment. As you know, the contents of phone batteries are very dangerous: they contain toxic substances such as lithium and nickel hydride. Printed circuit boards and microcircuits of phones are also not harmless due to the content of lead and arsenic. It would be unwise to throw your old cell phone into the trash can.
