Instructions

Step 1

Download traffic information using the built-in GPRS module in your navigator.

To load traffic jams into the navigator, the Internet module is used. For this, the navigator has a special slot for a SIM card. You can insert your SIM card or buy a new one at a rate in which GPRS Internet is cheaper. Such a navigator with traffic jams can completely replace a cell phone. The phone book will be displayed on the display of the navigator, all calls and messages will be saved. You can make and receive calls while talking on the speakerphone, send SMS / MMS - everything that a regular phone does.

Step 2

Use your mobile phone to download traffic information.

If there is no built-in GPRS module, but there is a Bluetooth interface, then you can receive data on traffic jams via a cell phone or PDA. A navigator with traffic jams without a built-in internet module costs less compared to the models that have it. At the same time, loading traffic jams into the navigator is as easy as in the first paragraph.

Step 3

Download traffic data via SDIO-Bluetooth (via SD slot) or CFIO-Bluetooth (via CompactFlash slot).

If the navigator does not have a built-in GPRS program or Bluetooth function, then you can separately buy such modules and connect the navigator with a mobile phone via wireless connection to access the Internet. And thus, the loading of jams is carried out in the same way as with the built-in Bluetooth interface.

Step 4

Download traffic information via the DTM antenna.

Some navigators from Garmin and TomTom are manufactured with an antenna that allows receiving traffic data over the FM radio channel (Radio Data System or Traffic Message Channel). The antenna can be purchased separately, but only for navigators of the above companies. Loading traffic jams is absolutely free, because in this case, Internet access is not required. Unlike European countries, in Russia, road traffic channels are still being introduced, so free information on traffic jams can be obtained only in the largest cities.
