Different GPS navigators have different programs installed that only work with certain maps. Also, the navigator has a basic set of these maps, but sometimes the necessary maps are not available or the existing ones simply become outdated. In this case, you need to download new maps. To do this, you can buy licensed cards or download them on the Internet.

Step 1
Installing official maps on the navigator.
There should be no problem installing official maps. A detailed description of the procedure is presented on the official pages of the developer companies: Garmin, Navitel and Avtosputnik.
Step 2
Installation of unofficial Garmin maps.
First, download Garmin maps based on OpenStreetMap. You can install them using the MapSource program. The software can be downloaded from the official website Garmin.com.
Connect your navigator to your computer.
After downloading the maps, save them to separate folders. Then run “Install” for each card. The necessary information about the cards will be sent to the computer register.
Now start MapSource.
In the program menu, click: "Utilities> Manage Map Products". A list of available maps will appear in the upper left corner (1). Select one of the cards from this menu. Using the button (4) click on the map (3) and it will appear in the window (2). Do this with other cards as well.
To send cards to the device, press the button (5). The selected maps are transferred to your Garmin device.
Step 3
Installation of unofficial Navitel maps.
First download Navitel maps based on OpenStreetMap.
Connect your navigator to your computer.
Having opened the navigator through a computer, create a separate folder for maps there, name it UserMaps. Do not touch the rest of the folders at all.
In this, create a folder for the map that you want to add to the navigator, for example Region.
Save the files of the required map to the Region folder.
In the Navitel-navigator program, select the "Open Atlas" menu item. Then click on the folder icon - create a new atlas.
In the window that appears, find the Region folder, and select "Create Atlas".
After loading the map, press the checkmark button.
Now you can use the new map by selecting the appropriate atlas from the list.
