Necessary

  • - screwdrivers;
  • - cotton gloves;
  • - manual for the operation of the car VAZ 2114.

Instructions

Step 1

First you need to open the hood and remove the negative terminal from the battery. This will de-energize the vehicle electrical system. Then you need to dismantle the steering column switches with adapters. Remove the decorative trims as well as the control levers for the heater in the passenger compartment. Dismantle the dashboard panel. Then the central steering wheel casing is opened, the nut that secures the steering wheel to the shaft is unscrewed, followed by its (steering wheel) removal.

Step 2

Pull the steering column down until it stops. Do not disconnect it from the steering shaft gear. On the left, find a pair of self-tapping screws that secure the dashboard. They are located one at the top, the second at the bottom. On the right side there are also self-tapping screws, similarly located - unscrew them too.

Step 3

Next comes the dismantling of the "ears" that secure the dashboard and steering column. Remove the panel carefully, and then pull the same gently towards you. Next, find the pads of wires going to the electronics. Disconnect all wiring carefully.

Step 4

Now remove the dashboard from the passenger compartment, having previously decided how it will be more convenient to do it. And it is more convenient to carry out this operation through the front right door of the car. Remove the air ducts from the back side, find the screws holding the cover. Unscrew these screws, bend the tabs that hold the pad (there should be 3 of them), then you can safely remove it together with the glove box, namely its body.

Step 5

Dismantle the left and right dashboard cross members together with the brackets. Do not forget to remove the housing of the upper glove box. The hinges on the cover hold the screws. Unscrew them and remove the cover.

Step 6

The dashboard is assembled in the reverse order. After completing the assembly, be sure to check the dashboard for correct operation.
