Smartphones running on the Windows operating system are gradually gaining popularity. But after switching from Android or iOS devices, many cannot get used to the peculiarities of the system. For example, users do not immediately understand how to put their own ringtone melody on a contact or alarm clock. In a Windows smartphone, this is quite simple.
Instructions
Step 1
First, everything is the same as with other smartphones: we download the ringtone to the device. I recommend using OneDrive for this. Upload a ringtone file from your computer to the cloud storage. Download from the smartphone using the OneDrive application to the device memory. To do this, open OneDrive, tap on the music file and select the Download button in the bottom menu.
Step 2
When downloading, you choose the folder where you want to put the file. We need Ringtones. However, you can upload a file to this folder in another way. When you connect your smartphone to a computer on Windows 8, you will see all the folders of the device, including the ringtones directory. You just need to move the file with music to this folder so that it becomes available in the menu for choosing a ringtone or alarm clock.
Step 3
Now let's open the contact and assign the downloaded melody to it. We select the "ringtone" option and select our file. If the file is not shown in the available melodies, then the system probably decided that the file is too large. In this case, install the Melody Creator application and cut the composition to a smaller size. The recommended song length is 40 seconds.
You can set your own melody on a Windows smartphone for any notifications from background applications. For example, messages from VKontakte and Skype can come with different sounds.
