You can remove the iPhone cover to replace the back cover with a new one or replace the battery. The back cover can also be used to access the contents of the apparatus for repair. To remove the cover, you will need to unscrew a few screws on the device case.
Necessary
- - Philips screwdriver for removing screws;
- - suction cup for iPhone 5 / 5s screen.
Instructions
Step 1
Before unscrewing the back cover, turn on silent mode using the switch on the left side of the device. After that, turn off your iPhone by holding down the power key located at the top right of the device.
Step 2
The screws that will allow you to remove the back cover are located on the bottom of the device. To unscrew them, use a special screwdriver designed for disassembling mobile phones.
Step 3
If you are using an iPhone 4 or 4S, after unscrewing, place two thumbs on the back of the device and slide it upward. Perform the operation carefully and without sudden movements, as applying a large amount of force can cause the mounts to break.
Step 4
Once the cover slides up, separate it from the device and set it aside. You will see the inside and the battery of the device. Remove the battery carefully if you wish to replace it. Install a new battery in the device and screw the back cover back on.
Step 5
Please note that iPhone 5 and 5s are disassembled in a slightly different way. After unscrewing the screws on the bottom panel of the device, you will need to remove not the bottom, but the top panel with the device screen. To do this, use a special suction cup that can be purchased at any cell phone accessory store. This suction cup is also included in the iPhone disassembly kits.
Step 6
After unscrewing the screws on the bottom panel, place the suction cup on the center of the screen. Use one hand to secure the phone and hold the bottom and side of the device. Use your other hand to pull the display using the suction cup until it detaches from the panel. After that, gently move the screen away.
Step 7
If you are going to replace the battery, unscrew the screws that secure the display cables to the phone board using a screwdriver. After completing the replacement procedure, reinstall the display by tightening the screws as they were previously installed.
