After inserting a new memory card in your Nokia phone, you need to format it. You cannot use a computer for this. This is due to the fact that simultaneously with the formatting, the phone creates a set of system folders on the card.
Instructions
Step 1
If the card you decide to install in your phone is not new, transfer the data you need from it to your computer. Use a card reader for this. When finished, do not forget to properly disconnect the card using the operating system installed on the computer. Only then remove it from the card reader.
Step 2
If you are not sure that the memory card does not contain bad blocks, first format it completely on your computer. Only then install it on your phone. Remember that after that you still have to format it additionally with your phone so that the necessary folders are automatically created on it. In Linux, format with the umount command unmounted, but not ejecting the card with the eject command: mkfs.vfat -c -F 32 / dev / sda1
Step 3
Then insert the card into your phone. The device of the outdated model will have to be turned off for this. The same should be done with a modern phone, if the card slot is located under the battery.
Step 4
Switch on your phone if you have previously switched it off. Wait for the download. Then press the key for calling up the menu.
Step 5
Find File Manager in the phone menu. It can be located in different ways. For example, in the "Tools" folder or in the "Applications" folder - "Organizer".
Step 6
Select the memory card in the file manager. Go to it.
Step 7
Call the file manager menu and select "Memory card functions" - "Format".
Step 8
Answer yes to a number of questions. Select the desired disc label.
Step 9
Wait for the formatting to finish. After that, install the desired set of applications on the memory card, put other files on it that you want to view or listen to using your phone. For this, use a data cable, card reader, Bluetooth, and with unlimited access, download them from the Internet. Do not violate copyright laws. Remember that the phone also requires a memory card to disconnect before removing.
