While traveling within the country, it is convenient to continue using communication services on the terms of the current tariff plans. For this there is a service "National roaming".

The concept "Roaming" comes from the English word roam - to wander, wander. This is the procedure for providing a subscriber with cellular services when he is outside the coverage area of the "home" network. This uses the resources of another (guest) network. One of the main advantages is the preservation of the subscriber's original telephone number.

Within the framework of national roaming, the service actually takes place in the network of another operator on the territory of the same country, which has an agreement with the subscriber's operator. Often a new company entering the market does not have its own network, or the company's service area simply does not extend to all regions. Then she enters into an agreement with other operators for roaming in their networks.

Registration of a mobile in the network of another subscriber occurs in two ways - automatically or manually. In the first case, when you turn on the phone, it looks for the optimal network itself and registers in it. But the safer way is to select the operator manually. For this, the national roaming service usually has to be activated.

For some operators this service is enabled by default, for others it is disabled by default. Usually it is also connected and disconnected at the user's oral statement.

Each operator sets its own tariffs for services in national roaming. The cost per minute of conversation depends, among other things, on whether the call is incoming or outgoing, from / to a national or mobile number, etc.

Using the national roaming service, you can stay on the territory of your country in the regions to which your operator's network does not apply, and at the same time use the SIM card of this operator. This is also relevant in cases when the coverage area of the roaming partner's network is larger than your operator's network in the territory of the given region.
