A lost cell phone is always a pity, no matter what the model was - new and expensive or old, but very convenient. Some, when losing a mobile, regret not so much the phone itself as the information stored in it. Not every home has copies of cell phone photos and friends' phone numbers written on paper. But sometimes a lost device can be returned if timely measures are taken to find it.

Step 1
Send an SMS to your number with a request to return the phone for a reward. If the message is successfully delivered, then the cellular is turned on. You can call him and discuss with the person who found the time of the meeting and the amount of gratitude. This method often works if decent people find the lost phone. Sometimes they themselves try to get in touch with the owner of the phone by finding the contacts of relatives in the address book, so do not rush to block the SIM card. Even if the finders turned out to be dishonest and are going to sell the find, without documents and a headset, they will not be able to get more than 50% of its real value for it. Therefore, the amount of your gratitude should not be less than this amount.
Step 2
Look in the documents for your phone identification number (IMEI). It is usually listed on the box under the barcode or in the warranty card. This 15-digit number is unique to each unit. It is instantly transmitted to the cellular operator's network as soon as a SIM card is inserted into the phone. The operator can determine where your device is used and to whom the phone number is registered. This information is classified, it can be provided only upon request from law enforcement agencies. Therefore, your next step will be to contact the police.
Step 3
Write a statement about the missing phone. Attach a copy of the receipt showing the series and model number, and a copy of the warranty card with the machine identification number. These documents will be proof that the missing phone really belongs to you. Unfortunately, the search for a missing mobile phone is a costly undertaking, so the police are not always in a hurry to solve the case. Private security companies are an alternative to government agencies.
Step 4
Contact a Private Security Company. Many of them successfully track down lost or stolen phones. Within a couple of days after contacting them, they contact all cellular operators in the region and, having specified the IMEI number, receive information about who and when used your phone. PSC services are paid, but they pay off if you have an expensive phone.
Step 5
Look for your own phone in places that sell and buy cell phones. The device may not have found a new owner yet. Therefore, by presenting documents proving that the phone belongs to you, you can return it.
