Nowadays, in almost every home, a DVD player has taken the place of a VCR. However, many people would like to rewrite the video materials stored on cassettes to disk. How to do it yourself?
It is necessary
- - video capture device;
- - WinDVD_Creator program;
- - Nero.
Instructions
Step 1
Buy a video capture device that converts an analog signal to digital, or check your computer package to see if you already have a TV tuner that can do the same.
Step 2
Before digitizing video materials from cassettes, install the WinDVD_Creator program, which is usually included with the video capture card, or check if it is already installed on your computer.
Step 3
Find the “video” and “audio” inputs from the TV tuner on the back panel of the system unit. If they are not on the back panel, carefully open the system unit and see where they are located. If you had to purchase a video capture card, use the instructions to connect it to your computer.
Step 4
Turn on the VCR, insert the cassette into it and press the "Play" button. Select the “VHS” tab in the tuner dialog box. After that, an icon should appear in this window indicating the presence of video material on the cassette.
Step 5
Select the Record Panel tab in the tuner window. The same action can be performed by right-clicking the tuner menu and choosing the same option. In the Recording Panel, select the Video / Audio Recording Settings tab from the list. For high-quality digitizing video, determine which format will be optimal. Pay attention to the right column with the options indicated in it (the options in the left column will be installed automatically). Select "Burn File" and specify the path to burn.
Step 6
Go to the "Recording" tab, click on the icon with a video camera in order to start recording material in the specified folder. After the end of the recording process, the file will have the extension mpg, wmv or avi. Material in this format can already be transferred to disc.
Step 7
Insert the disc into the drive and use the Disc Burner Wizard or a special program such as Nero to write the video information to the disc.
