Step 1
Choose the microphone you like. It can have a variety of forms: on a thin leg and a stand (such models are very convenient to put on the table), pop (most often used for karaoke), combined with headphones. In addition, there are microphones that are already built into the laptop.
Step 2
Plug the microphone into the appropriate jack on your computer. Before doing this, carefully read the instructions. Use an adapter if necessary. After connecting the microphone, it is advisable to restart the computer.
Step 3
After restarting your PC, go to the Start menu. Find there the item "Control Panel", and in it the shortcut "Sound". Double click on it. You will see a window that opens where you need to select the "Recording" tab. To make sure the microphone is installed, look for its name, next to which there should be a check mark.
Step 4
Check microphone operation. To do this, say a test phrase. If you see a signal on the equalizer, the microphone is connected and turned on correctly.
Step 5
Use the Audio tab to adjust the microphone volume to your liking. Press the "Volume" button. Move the sliders and tune the microphone as needed. There is also an option "Balance", which regulates the flow of sound to the speakers of the computer.
