If you decide to create your own recording studio or just want to do what you love at home - music - you will surely face the problem that you need a microphone with a stand. Of course, a microphone stand is a thing that you can simply buy at any music store, but if you have financial constraints, for the first time you can make a microphone stand yourself.

Instructions

Step 1

First, try working with a tabletop stand: it is easier to make, but at the same time, it will fulfill all the intended functions. To make a microphone stand, take a table lamp with a clamp - it has a fairly similar design, which means it will be easier for you to modify it. The cost of such a lamp is minimal, you will need more of your own efforts and imagination.

Step 2

Carefully disassemble the lamp cover, pull out the wire. It is this part of the table lamp that will serve as a holder for the microphone, so special attention should be paid to it further.

Step 3

After that, attach the adapter tightly to the thread, which can be bought at any music store for almost a penny. This is where the main problem can arise, since the microphone mounts are made to the American thread standard, which is measured in inches and has a slightly different pitch than ours. Due to the fact that the thread does not match, the fastener can be screwed only once - after that the thread will be damaged. If you want to change the mount, you will most likely have to throw it away and buy a new one, since you will not be able to screw the mount back.

Step 4

In this regard, screw the adapter very tightly, on which you will subsequently fit the standard microphone mount. Keep in mind that if you have a heavy microphone, you will need to select a larger tube to handle the load. Otherwise, the microphone may fall under its own weight, after which it will most likely be unusable.

Step 5

Mount your stand on a table or anywhere you like and get to work. If you did everything correctly, such a rack will serve you for a long time. A very cheap and simple option, but also quite reliable.
