Watching movies on a computer is a convenient opportunity to enjoy your favorite pictures without leaving your computer or using a TV, if you have a drive that supports the required video disc formats. Today, Blu-ray movies and high-quality HD DVDs are gaining popularity, and some computers play these movies incorrectly, slowly, and intermittently.
Instructions
Step 1
Often the problem of incorrect playback lies in the slow operation of the processor, which does not have time to process the video signal. Sometimes this problem occurs even on computers with notoriously strong dual-core processors.
Step 2
Download and install the universal Power DVD movie software.
Step 3
Start the player and open a movie that did not play correctly on previous attempts. Stop viewing and go to settings.
Step 4
Open the "Video" tab in the program settings and check the box next to the "Enable hardware acceleration" line. Click "OK" and start watching the movie again.
Step 5
In addition to the Power DVD settings, you can optimize the video playback speed using the settings of your video card. If you have an ATI graphics card, use the ATI Avivo feature, which allows video decoding, reducing the processor power when watching high quality video - for example, with the Avivo feature enabled, the processor will be running at only 20% of its power when watching a Blu-ray movie. This feature only works if you have an ATI Radeon graphics card and only if you have a fairly new model installed.
Step 6
In the case of older graphics cards and Nvidia Geforce cards, you will have to be content with the Power DVD settings, which also contribute to faster playback.
