Instructions

Step 1

To install a remote (or new) printer, go to the Start menu and select Printers and Faxes. Click on it with the left mouse button. You can also right-click on it. In this case, select the "Open" command from the drop-down menu.

Step 2

In the window that opens, select the item "Install a printer" on the left side and click on it with the left mouse button. The same action can be done in a different way. In the top menu bar, select the "File" button, in the drop-down menu, select the "Install printer" command by clicking on the corresponding line with the left mouse button.

Step 3

This command will open the Add Printer Wizard window. After reviewing the information window, click Next to move to the next level of printer setup.

Step 4

In the next window, select which printer you are going to install: local (connected to this computer) or network (printer connected to another computer). When choosing a network printer, make sure that other computers are allowed to access it. If you want to entrust the search for a printer to the setup wizard, check the "Automatically detect and install a printer" checkbox. If you are going to search for the printer yourself, leave the field blank. Having defined, click the "Next" button.

Step 5

At the next stage, the installation wizard searches for all connected printers or prompts you to specify a port and select your printer from the list of models. If you selected automatic search, the installation wizard will detect the connected printer on its own. If you have chosen the manual method, select the required model in the list with the left mouse button and click the "Next" button.

Step 6

In the new window, specify a new name for the printer, or leave the existing one unchanged. Specify whether your computer should use the selected default printer and click Next.

Step 7

Agree or refuse to print a test page and click Next. If the installation is successful, the printer will print a page. Click Finish to complete the printer setup.
