Photos taken with cell phone cameras are often less than ideal. The main disadvantages of such images are low resolution, color noise and blurred outlines of objects. You can partially improve the photo with the help of the graphics editor Adobe Photoshop.

Instructions

Step 1

Download Adobe Photoshop and drag the photo prepared for editing into the program window. Duplicate the image layer. To do this, select the Dublicate item on the Image menu. With the created layer selected, adjust the brightness in one of the following ways. From the Image menu, open the Brightness / Contrast settings. Move the sliders to select the appropriate lighting option.

Step 2

A better result can be achieved using the Levels tool from the Adjustments tool category. In the tool window, change the brightness of the image with the black and white slider. After choosing the best option, confirm your choice. In automatic mode, you can improve the brightness of the image using the Auto Contrast command, called from the Adjustments item.

Step 3

The photo can be sharpened using the High Pass filter. Make a copy of the layer as described above. Apply this filter to the top layer. It can be found in the Other sub-item of the Filter menu. Adjust the filter action so that only the outlines of the objects that you would like to sharpen are visible in the image. Change the blending mode of the top layer to Overlay and adjust its opacity by moving the slider next to the word Opacity.

Step 4

To remove color noise you need the Channels panel. If you cannot find it, click on the main Windows menu item, find the word Channels in the list and mark it with a checkbox. After that, the panel will be added to the working area of the program. This panel reflects the color channels of the image.

Step 5

Select the channel named Red so that the eye icon is located opposite only this channel. If the image is grainy, apply the Reduce Noise filter found under Noise in the Filter menu. In the filter window, experiment with the settings. Choose an option that removes most of the noise. Then repeat this step for the Green and Blue channels.
