A certain part of users have already abandoned their usual monitors in favor of modern LCD TVs. Using this device as a computer display can significantly expand the functionality of a PC.

Video signal cable
Instructions
Step 1
Start by choosing the connector through which the TV will be connected to the computer's video card. Naturally, ideally it is necessary to use a digital data transmission channel. In video cards, these connectors are presented in the form of DVI-D and HDMI ports.
Step 2
If your computer has a relatively old video card that lacks HDMI ports, and your TV does not have a DVI channel, purchase a special adapter. In this case, you can also use a ready-made DVI-HDMI cable.
Step 3
Disconnect the monitor from the PC. Connect the computer's video card to the desired port on the TV using the indicated cable. Turn on both devices.
Step 4
Open the TV settings menu. Find the submenu responsible for selecting the main signal source. Specify the port to which you connected the cable. Wait for the image to appear on the TV display.
Step 5
Open Control Panel and go to Display Properties. Choose a suitable image resolution. In this case, it is important to indicate the parameters with which the video card and TV work.
Step 6
In most cases, it becomes necessary to configure the simultaneous operation of a TV and a standard display. Connect the monitor to the video card and wait for the new device to be detected.
Step 7
Open display properties. In Windows 7, for this you need to right-click on a free area of the desktop and select "Screen Resolution". Now assign the primary display. It is best to use a standard monitor initially.
Step 8
Specify the parameter for the synchronous operation of the two screens. To work independently with each device, select the "Extend" mode. Click the Apply button and wait for the parameters to update.
Step 9
When you select the duplicate function, an identical image will be transferred to both screens. Try to adjust the resolution so that it meets the requirements of both displays.
